"The Holiday Switch" by Tif Marcelo [Review]

I love a good holiday romance, which is what brought me to this book. Christmas romances are my favorite holiday romances.

Lila’s ready for her last winter break of high school. She works at the bookworm inn, which was popularized in the book-to-film adaptation of ‘Holiday by the Lake’. She also struggles to hide her secret book blog. But her perfect holiday plans crash to a halt when the boss’s cute nephew, Teddy, becomes her new training coworker. When they accidentally switch phones, they realize they’ve been hiding things from each other. Will their secrets—and some holiday spirit—bring them closer together?

I loved the setting and found myself wanting to know what path Lila would take, what her parents want for her or what her heart wants. It was pretty obvious early on what would happen between her and Teddy, so no surprise there. I did enjoy her wanting to check off things on her perfect Christmas wish list. And the activities were all fun and enjoyable.

I wish the side characters were more developed, though. I would’ve loved to see more of her sister and friend than just the two of them. That’s the only downside to this story.

If you’re looking for a good, light Christmas teen romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously, then this might be a good one for you to add to your holiday read list, or even anytime you’re feeling Christmasy.
