After reading "Obsidian", I just had to continue by reading the next one in this addictive series. I think I will try to read the entire series. This book takes off where the prior one left off. November brings about not only chilly weather but a new face in the form of a new male student, Blake, who has moved in with his uncle. He noses his way into Katy's life, much to Daemon's irritation. Katy starts experiencing some weird changes...some power changes, which causes her to spend more time with Blake after learning his secret. But when she sees someone close to the Blacks that has been assumed dead very much alive, she and Daemon embark on a mission to discover the truth. Along the way, Katy tries to clarify exactly what her feelings for Daemon are and is it because of the new alien connection they share. This sequel is very enjoyable as it also mixes the holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas) with the story. But it does so in a way that adds more to the story and makes it more unique. The holiday scenes don't feel unnecessary and don't take up more space in the book, without changing the story and focusing a lot on the holidays. I enjoy the suspense and mystery of discovering who Blake really was, along with also figuring out the sinister mystery behind Kellie's boyfriend Will. And those weren't the only mysteries to figure out that was enjoyable, but I'm not admitting any spoilers. Fans of the series, sci-fi, romance, and mysteries, add this to your collection and you won't be disappointed.
