I am a fan of Shani Petroff's last two YA books ("My New Crush Gave to Me" and "Airports, Exes, and Other Things I'm Over"), so that's what made me want to give this YA Romantic Comedy a try. In this one, Cam gets dumped unexpectedly and publicly by her boyfriend, Marc, in the beginning of her senior year, the same day she learns from her counselor that she won't have enough extracurricular credits to get into her dream college, Columbia. After, she, with the help of her best friends (volleyball player Grace and artsy Terri), come up with a plan to help her get more credits for college and finding a better boyfriend. I wasn't originally impressed with the plot of the story (thought it was too typical), but after reading the first chapter, I found myself almost unable to stop. I begun reading the book on Wednesday and finished it the following Monday. I should know better than to try and resist this author's work. The last 2 I finished within a month. At first, I thought Cam was too wrapped up in Marc to have her own identity, since almost everything she did during her free time was related to Marc. But then starting the evening she got dump, not only does she start discovering herself, but just maybe new friends emerge. This is a great edition to the author's collection of YA Romances. Fans of YA Romance or Shani Petroff, you won't be disappointed with this book.
