"10 Blind Dates" by Ashley Elston [Review]

I got an advanced copy of this book from YallWest earlier this year. It's a cute story about a girl (Sophie) who's sneaky plans to stay home with her boyfriend while her parents visit her expecting sister out of town go awry when while trying to surprise him, she hears he wants to break up with her. To escape him, she drives down to her Grandma's house, near where the rest of her extended family lives. To get her past the heartache, her family sets her up on 10 Blind Dates (hence the title). It's interesting to see her huge family and to see what kind of dates they set her up on. I'd love to be living near a big family like that. I still don't know how many family members Sophie has because it was so huge. I felt like the book fit well in the Christmas season. Some of the dates were holiday-related and some were not. The season fit really well with the story.

If there was one thing I had to nit-pick that I disliked about the book, I'd have to say it was the long length of the chapters. Each chapter took place in a single day, which made most chapters incredibly long. All in all, it was a really good book that takes place during winter break, but can be read anytime. Good addition to the YA Romance genre
