What first made me want to read this book was the sports (football and ballet) and the author. I enjoyed her last sports middle grade book, You Throw Like a Girl.
I got an advanced copy of this book from Edelweiss Plus in exchange for a review.
I throughly enjoyed the Texas setting, the sports, characters, and everything else about this book. Throughout the book, I could see Brooklyn (main character) growing from not wanting much to do with her new family and loneliness to... (no spoilers here). It's good for sports lovers (though it doesn't get too detailed with the technical terms), moving-to-a-new-place-recently feel, and little good surprises along the way
