"The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls" by Jessica Spotswood (Review)

I got an advanced copy from Eldeweiss Plus in exchange for an honest review. Thanks Eldeweiss Plus.

All 4 Garrett sisters are very different and have very similar, yet different problems happening in their summer. Des (19, caretaker for the family) is trying to figure out what she wants out of life after meeting a new friend, Paige. Bea (18, recent high school graduate and journalist) doesn't want the same things she wanted when she started high school, including her boyfriend. Kat (16, diva/actress) hooks up with a guy who just broke up with his boyfriend in a pack to get both their ex-boyfriends back. Vi (15, openly gay, yet closet bi-gay fan fiction writer) falls for a girl, whom she's not sure if the girl is gay, bi, or straight.

I enjoyed reading about the sisters struggles, and their discoveries of their own desires. My favorite parts of the book, I'd have to say, were the parts where the sisters came together to help each other. This is an interesting light, summer, sisterhood read.
