"Once and For All" by Sarah Dessen [Review]

Louna (daughter of a famed wedding planner) has seen a lot of weddings and is cynical of happily-ever-after endings, since her own first love ended tragically. When she meets serial dater Ambrose, she holds him at arm’s length while they are forced to work together.

I’ve never read a Sarah Dessen book before, but was drawn to this because of the interested plot. I’m glad this was my first book by the author.

I loved reading about the different kinds of weddings (really interesting), enjoyed reading about Louna’s past, Ambrose’s optimistic behavior, and the budding relationship between them. I loved that there wasn’t just one wedding, but several described in the book, which makes sense to have Louna’s mother be a wedding planner.

After learning about Louna’s last boyfriend (no spoilers), I understood why she was cautious about Ambrose. I never expected what happened to the last boyfriend to have happened; it was very surprising to me.

I was very fortunate enough to be able to read the exclusive epilogue from the Barnes & Nobles copy of the book. I loved reading it and think more books should have epilogues in it, exclusive or not.

This book is wonderful for fans of contemporary teen romances or fans of teen wedding books. If you do get this book, however, I advise to get a copy with the “exclusive epilogue” in it. You won’t be disappointed.
